How do I activate Three Way Calling?
Dial the first number and press "Send". Wait for the person to answer. Press "Send" to get dial tone. Then dial the second number and press "Send". Wait for the second person to answer and press "Send" again. All three will be on line at the same time.

How do I deactivate Three Way Calling?
Pressing "End" will disconnect all callers.

What is Caller ID?
Caller ID allows you to see the ten-digit phone number of an incoming caller as your phone rings.

Why don't all numbers show up on Caller ID?
Unlisted or Blocked numbers will not display on Caller ID. Also, there are some systems that do not have the capability of sending Caller ID information.

Does Caller ID work with Call Waiting?
Yes. Caller ID is displayed, when available, for Call Waiting calls. This means that when you are on a call and hear a call-waiting tone you will also see the calling party's number displayed on your phone.

Will I be charged for Caller ID?
No. Caller ID is free of charge on most Plateau Wireless plans.

How do I activate Voice Mail?
In order for calls to be sent to voice mail, you must forward your phone to the voice mail system. Most customers wish for the call to go to voice mail if they do not answer the phone. This is done by pressing *77 + 100 + your 7 digit cellular number and pressing SEND. Wait for confirmation tones (two beeps) and press END (Example: *771007601111send, wait for confirmation tones, press end). If you want the call to go immediately to voice mail (without ringing the phone), you will press *72 + 100 + your seven digit cellular number.

How do I set up a personal greeting on Voice Mail?
Dial #86 and "Send". Enter your password and go to "options" and follow the system instructions.

How do I retrieve Voice Mail messages?
From the Plateau Home Service Area you may dial #86 and "Send". From outside the Plateau Home Service Area, you will use Voice Mail Retrieval number for that area. i.e. (575) 760-7090. (Voice mail retrieval numbers may be found in the Plateau Wireless Roamer Guide)

How will Voice Mail charges appear on my bill?
A monthly charge of $4.95 will appear on the "Recurring Charges" section of the bill. The call record will show up on the "Detail Billing" section listed as "VMB/retrieval".

Will I be charged if someone leaves a voice mail message in my voice mailbox?
A message left in your voice mailbox will be charged against your home airtime. If you have used your allotted free minutes then the per minute charge rate for your particular plan will apply.

How do I know if I have message waiting in my voice mailbox?
The next time a call is placed from the wireless phone, the caller will hear a stutter dial tone indicating a message is waiting. Many phones have voice mail indicators on the screen that will display when a message is waiting.

What is Roaming?
Roaming is the use of another wireless carrier's system when you leave Plateau's Home Service Area or the Expanded Home Service Area. (Dependent upon your plan). Use of your wireless phone outside of your home area will incur roaming charges and possibly toll charges. These charges will appear separately on your bill.

How do I place a call when roaming?
In most circumstances, calls are placed in the same way as if you were in your home area; by dialing the area code and telephone number.

How will I know when I am roaming?
Your phone will display "Roaming" or your roaming light will be activated.

How and when will roamer charges appear on my bill?
Roaming charges may take up to 90 days to show up on your bill and will be listed under "Roamer Charges" on your Plateau bill. Roamer airtime charges and toll charges (if applicable) will be billed in one-minute increments. These charges will be identified on your Plateau Wireless bill labeled "Roamer Charges". The call record for each call will be identified with an "A" for airtime charges and "T" for toll charges. In addition to airtime and toll charges, daily surcharges may also be applied to your bill if that carrier chooses to charge one.

How can I determine the rate I will pay when roaming?
Contact a Plateau Wireless representative or refer to your Plateau Wireless roamer guide, available by request, free of charge.

What features are available when roaming?
Most features such as call waiting and three way calling can be used in a roaming situation just like they are in your home area. However, many of the star codes that are used to activate services, like voice mail, are not recognized by other wireless carriers. |
